Owwwie!

Grace got her first real boo-boo. Short version: She was climbing up the ladder of a slide at our friends house and lost her footing...went crashing down and sprained/twisted her ankle. Thankfully, nothing's broken and we're hoping she'll be up and at 'em again soon! She is such a tough baby, it was SO sad when it happened. She hardly EVER cries, so it broke my heart to hear her sobbing in pain. Her little lip was quivering and her leg was shaking she had cried so much, sad huh? There is no bruising or swelling yet, although its sometimes hard to tell with her chubber legs.

We have felt your love and prayers and our grateful for them. We also want to express gratitude for the gift of the Priesthood - it is real and so very powerful. I have seen it work miracles. I am grateful I have that gift in our home and have friends and family that are close by to help out whenever needed. We are truly blessed.

* Disclaimer - these pics were not taken during her injury...pictures were not on my mind. I just thought they were fitting for this sad post.

It happened!!

For the first time since Grace was born, she has LOST weight. We took her in for her 15 month appt. She is doing so well. The Dr was impressed that she has only been sick once (ear ache around 10 months) and has only been in for well visits other than that. We were pretty proud as parents. He he. Anyway, for those who care. Here are her stats: 25 lb 14oz, 32 1/2 inches long. She is out of the 95th for her weight now (80th), but still up there in height. She is such a happy baby. We love her.
"Can":
Walk (took 14 months!)
Pick up her toys
Share
Eat everything that's edible
Blow kisses
Give kisses
Give hugs
Wave bye-bye
Blow bubbles
Vibrate her lips
High-five
Patty cake
Knuckles (but will point w a finger out)
Push shopping carts loaded w groceries (pic)
Climb up and down the stairs
Dance (seriously)
Play the piano
Pull off and put on stickers (pic)
Read her books
Ride on daddys shoulders (pic)
Identify - her nose, eyes, ears, mouth, teeth, tongue, toes, foot, belly button, hair, knees
Say - ball, dog *and bark*, cat, baby, more, book, dad, momma, papa, stars, shoes, moon and my favorite belly bah (belly button) (well at least we know when she's saying them, ha ha)
Sign - more, please, thank you, milk, juice

I'm sure there are more and I realized this is long for a post, but I want to be able to look back and see how much they grow/change. It sure happens fast!!

Happy Birthday Grace!

It is amazing how fast time flies by! Grace turned 1 on August 16th and we had a little party at the park. Her favorite part was destroying the birthday cake! She did an awesome job! Check her out! Grace, we love you so much. You are SUCH a good baby. You're favorite things are to read books, hug babies and pet (pat) dogs. You LOVE LOVE love your daddy but smile when Mom walks in the room. You sleep 12 hours at night and eat anything we let you try! You have been such a joy this past year and we look forward to many more birthdays and special memories. Thank you for coming to our family! You have such a sweet spirit and disposition. We love you Grace Olivia! 1 year stats: 25.2 pounds, 31 1/2 inches. Such a big healthy girl!

Made from scratch, I did pretty good, huh??

She is in the zone, or has had too much sugar!

10 month photoshoot

Although Grace is now 11 months, I decided to post these pictures because they are SO cute. We went to our friend/photographers studio, Chris Paxman, and he took a TON of shots for us. Grace was a little bit tired but we worked around it. Thanks again Chris!! Here are a few of the favorites:

Grace thinks taking pictures is VERY exhausting!
